We put in a Sundance Optima spa 4yrs ago this July. We love it, the whole family uses it. I will tell you...don't buy any spa till you do EXTENSIVE research. You want a reliable brand, a company that builds a quality spa and stands by it. We have had one small issue in 4yrs, a small pump that went out. Called for service with Sundance, was under warranty and had it fixed in 2days, we paid a $30 trip charge is all.
Atlantic Spa and Billiards on Glenwood sells Sundance, Hot Springs and I believe Jacuzzi.
In my experience, our hot tub does not require much work, in fact we are constantly amazed at how easy it is to be spa owners. We use dichlor not bromine. Granular dichlor is added daily, amount dependent on use. Our tub requires 1TBL of dichlor we add each evening after use. By the next day, its dispersed so we never sit in chem soup. Once a week we do a simple water test, takes 1min. Once we set our alk/pH at the fill-up we never have to fuss with our water until next refill, city of Raleigh does a good job of that before we tinker with it. Every other week we add 2oz of Spa Defender (controls calcium buildup). Thats all the regular maintenance. Our water stays clear, smells clean and fresh. Every 70-90 days we run SwirlAway thru the old water, then drain, wipe it down, wax the interior and refill. We drain overnight, spend about 2hrs on Sat AM refilling.
We love our spa, someone is in it practically every night. I would recommend that you read comments and archives at these two sites...they are very helpful. We order all our supplies thru the first one, great service and price. Good luck on your spa search/purchase!
