Hi, my husband and I will be visiting the triangle with our kids (5,5,13,15) over Spring Break 2012. We would love some ideas for things to do (both cultural and outdoors) while there. We are open to traveling around the state a bit but will be visiting UNC and Duke for sure. Thanks for any help!
That is the best time of year for nature (azaleas and dogwoods will be in bloom in April) at the campuses and all over. Definitely spend a day in Chapel Hill and time in Duke Gardens. Otherwise I don't know, this far out, of special goings-on, but check closer to the time for specific events (the "pinned" threads at the top of the forum are where people post specific things). There will undoubtedly be things going on just that week, but they aren't showing up on schedules yet.
