The Brunswick Contender pool table is a marvelous example of craftsmanship. The Brunswick Contender table is constructed with 1" slate. The slate is assembled in three pieces and is constructed out of one inch slate that has been diamond honed and polished to within 1/100th of an inch tolerances. This gives the pool player the best surface possible, with the smoothest ball travel f any pool table.
The playing surface is a 75/25 blend of the finest wool and nylon and is steamed and pressed under 2500 pounds of pressure to make the playing surface the best it can be. You can order the felt any many different colors including Brunswick Green, Summer Forest, Olive, Platinum, Timberline, Sahara, Stone, Midnight Blue, Ebony, Oceanside and Merlot. The high quality of the felt along with the diamond honing of the slate makes for the smoothest and fastest playing surface that you will find.
The playing are of this table is 44" X 88" and the overall dimensions is 55" wide by 99" long. The pockets are made of fringed leather stained to match the pool table and they are steel reinforced. You can get the table with a Brunswick Play Package, which includes a full set of standard phenolic resin balls, a rack and a wooden cue rack.
The legs are solid carved in the Queen Ann style, the whole table is finished in traditional cherry and is a work of art. The quality of the carving is such that you will be showing this off as one of your favorite pieces of furniture.
