Thats just it, HOA's are often on the extreme side of things because those prone to being "extremist" mindset rise to power over the apathetic masses who are just square peg square hole types, they are extremes because they the form micro organizations for the sole purpose of the exlusion of others of different opinions, they draw a certain type, a type that believes in the end justifu the means when it comes to the normalcy bias of the many over the needs of the few, they putup walls and gates to shut out things that are perfectly legal and do no harm other than "look different" or "act different", whereas if these same people put the same effort into normal communities, the HOA's would never actually be needed.

Soldier returns from duty to find car towed, sold

MARGATE, Fla. (AP) - When U.S. Army Reserve Lt. Col. Alexzandria Kelly returned home from duty in Africa last year, she was heartbroken to find her car had been towed and sold.

Yup HOA's in flroida are sooo much different than everywhere else, nope in fact I would say that HOA'S in florida are probably the worst examples of HOA's anywhere because they are made up of all the people that fled their own states to settle their little commune in the south.

I was really just pointing out the fact that if you don't like or know the rules in an HOA don't buy or rent there, really wasn't looking to argue about them .... I'm out , you win

Like someone said earlier...if you like things done for you and most likely lack imagination, you will probably like them. That sounds like a dead head type person to me or someone who would have enjoyed living under Nazi regiment. HOA's can be like living in the ticky tacky post world war 2 homes.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VUoXtddNPAM

tick·y-tack·y (tĭk′ē-tăk′ē)
Shoddy material, as for the construction of standardized housing.
adj.
1. Made of shoddy material; cheaply built.
2.
a. Marked by a mediocre uniformity of appearance or style: ticky-tacky rows of look alike houses.
b. Tawdry; tacky.

When you think about it..the truly nice neighborhoods have custom homes where each is unique and has each their own style.

Get carried away much? Why is it there seems to be no common ground? Why does everyone have to be diametrically opposed? I've met several wonderfully talented artists who live in "dead head" developments, as well as several who live in manufactured housing. I think you're also confusing economy of scale with totalatarianism.

its the internet, everyone is automatically opposition until proven otherwise, sadly the widescale use of "discussion forums" has turned our society into one big argument instead of intelligent, self realized point/counterpoint discussion, instead it is much easier to use canned statistics and facts to support your side as an absolute rather than work towards a point where both/all parties reach mutual respect for the others opinion and may have been swayed slightly in one direction or had their own beliefs further cemented in. Right or wrong, it is what it is, I prefer discussion until a point of a invalid point being made and having to use the said canned evidence to right the wrong. This thread is case in point, where I noted originally that HOA's were not all bad, but only fit certain type of people, who live a certain way and think a certain way, and that many had critical issue's with HOA's, until someone said it was only in the extreme that there were issues. So instead of moving the discussion along on a wrong point (the wrong point being that problem HOA's where an extreme minority), I provided said evidence to the contrary, then get accused of "arguing" and hurt someones little feelers. Owell.
