What's with the idea that Obama is not smart? Obama is very smart and a handful of gaffes on the campaign trail doesn't erase his proven intelligence. I also think that Romney is very smart as well. Both are Harvard educated.

It saddens me that Romney and other Republicans treat intelligence as a bad thing though. Romney said that he thought Obama spent too much time at Harvard, even though Romney was at Harvard for a longer period of time. The difference between Republicans and Democrats today is that Republicans see an ivy league education as a badge of out-of-touch elitism, while Democrats see is as a sign of superior intelligence and competence. Powerful politicians on both sides of the aisle are highly intelligent, but it seems like most of those on the GOP side run away from it so as to look like "regular folk."

If he's so smart, why is the country such a mess?

He's a failure with no leadership skills whatsoever. Rex Ryan could accomplish more than Obama has.

I...huh?

Chalk it up to another thing just like the whole "we didn't build that" idiocy that republicans make a bigger issue out of than what it actually is.

Partisan politics by both the democrats and the republicans.

There's little Obama can do about that.
