Front page headline on my morning paper.

" Retail sales unexpectedly decline for the third straight month in June "

"The decline was worst than the most pessimistic forecast "

Both my wife & I own our own businesses.

Hers, is full retail specialty
Mine, is labor and technical based, but relies on retail sales to spark interest.

We are both dead in the water, once again. The phones quit ringing and traffic stopped, last month.

I guess even these economists aren't following the numbers because it should not have been neither a surprise nor unexpected.

The BDI has been signaling a decline and that is one number that they can't fudge.
