Based on data publicly available Here and HERE, I have created a COVID-19 tracker for AZ and Maricopa.

I'll try to update this on a daily basis to see the trends for the Coronavirus increases and mortality increases.

I welcome any suggestions for improvements or corrections. Feel free to take this and make your own version with different slices of data or visualizations to make it even more insightful and post it in this thread.

Please, stay home if you can, to avoid getting sick and avoid spreading it around. Flatten the curve so we don't become a hot spot.

EDIT: for those who have not used Google Sheets before, it has a really cool "explore" feature to look at the data visually.
Click on "Explore" (bottom right corner) and then place your cursor on any heading column...for example column D (% increase of cases), and you can scroll down to see the graphs of the increases plotted over time.

It certainly looks like social distancing is working, as the % increase is on a downward trend.

[Caution - AZ simply has not tested a high volume of people so this stat could be misleading...we need a lot more testing to happen to find out what the true increases are.]

EDIT 2: part of the reason I made this tracker is because the sources don't show the history, don't calculate the mortality rates, and don't provide the increase and doubling calculations. There might be a chance I may miss a day or two as this goes on, it would be helpful if folks could post / capture newly updated #s in this thread so I can update this in case I miss a day or two.

I know you are limited by what's available, but it would be good if, like NYC, we could get info on whether the deceased had underlying conditions or not (they also have a strange 'pending' category).

Thank you for doing this. I wish there was someway to know more information on those that are in ICU and the age and underlying conditions of those that have died. I also would really be interested in knowing if any were treated with a combination of hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin and zinc sulfate, since there seems to be a high level of success with these especially when given early. If I was diagnosed with the virus I would demand to be treated with these asap since my life might depend upon it and there does not appear to any downside to taking this treatment.

I agree, I wish we had more data.

What's more concerning, is that some hospitals are starting to have shortages of vital medicines to sedate / keep someone on a ventilator, and we could be seeing nationwide shortage as well: https://www.npr.org/2020/04/04/82696...id-19-patients

We have got to flatten the curve so we don't have a shortage of key capacity and medicines to keep those who are severely ill alive. If we run out of ventilators, or the medicine to treat them, the death rate will spike.

The sheet is updated with data from today.

It's nice to see people in AZ taking this seriously and the number of known cases not rising as fast. Hopefully this data will open the eyes to many to see how we must fight this together by staying home and preventing the spread of this virus.

We also need a lot more testing.

Thank you. I was going to make a sheet to keep an eye on the curve. You did the work for me.

Looks like a less than 10% increase from yesterday to today (under 200 new cases) with about 5,100 new tests. Hopefully this trend continues.

Data is updated from yesterday. Increase for AZ is in single digits and at lowest rate ever since this began, 8.24%. Only 1 death from Covid-19 as well, none in Maricopa.

Proud of my fellow Arizonans and Phoenicians for taking this seriously and keeping safe by staying at home. Eventually the virus will burn out, with no new victims to infect, and those who were infected are recovered. That and the rapid development of treatments, new ventilators, medicines to increase capacity and capability, more PPE for health workers and the general population, plus the vaccine later down the road, means we are seeing the efforts pay off and we can keep ahead of the wave.

You all are saving hundreds / thousands of lives right now. Awesome people.

Let's keep this trend up and beat this thing!

EDIT: here is the COVID-19 model for future projections based upon current growth: https://covid19.healthdata.org/projections

Here is another good source for data - https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/
if you notice no new cases or new deaths in several states colorado, hawaii, washington, etc. news should focus on those states to see what they're doing to level this virus.
