Currently I have a patio 36*12 with wooden posts and beams with an aging latticecover on top of it. Planning to take outthe lattice cover and put some solid cover that will give good shade.

Any references or good contacts for doing a wooden patio cover?

Frankly, I have had terrible luck with wood patio covers both lattice and solid. The weather just beats them up especially. I finally went with metal, problem solved.

Same here, we converted ours over to an aluminum patio, love it. Best part no maintenance, no painting. Here's the company that did ours. You can google them.

And you can cook on it!!

Stay away from wood unless you have a lot of extra time.

Our HOA does not accept wood patio covers. We had to get Alumawood. No regrets. It's great.

Looked at alumawood already....For some reason, didn't like the looks compared to wood.

As I mentioned, I already have a wooden patio for the last 8 years with lattice on top of it. Once they seal the wooden top its waterproof and should last for 15 years plus.

Anyone has any reference which I can use?
