There is a Value Place weekly/monthly place I see advertised. One is near Metrocenter, but the other is out in Peoria.

yeah - there is an extended stay ... also a "value place" - definitely look at the fee schedule and responsibilities though to make sure it makes sense for you .... location is convenient though as it's right off the 101 in peoria

I walk by the Budget Suites on IS and 4th Ave. frequently. It is fairly modern and probably runs 300 per week, after taxes. I think those places are now getting somewhat of a homeless clientele (lost their homes). Seen numerous people taking the kids out to the bus stop in front. I'll bet there are some vouchers being used. That is a huge reason to do as much groundwork as possible over the internet, before you come out. Another reason to avoid shortsales altogether. You could buy some really nice appliances and new stuff for what it would cost you to uncomfortably live out of a Hotel for 2 months. I bought a condo in BHC one time, that was probate, so it did take about a month to finalize and clear the courts. [mod cut--off topic(s)] I've bought my last three without looking at them personally, and have no regrets. I tell the bank morons (I mean Asset Managers) in my offers, that the A/C needs to be replaced (which it very may well) and I have to subtract 3000 for that. Works like a champ.

For the most part peoria will be pretty safe ..... it's not an "urban" environment by any means .... not too much of a homeless issue, although you'll see some (usually around freeway exits) .... the newer areas (moving towards the NW part of peoria) tend to be nicer .... but there are still plenty of decent areas in the older portions of the city as well

like much of the phoenix metro it's a combination of residential developments and then strip malls, restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, schools, etc that will support the developments

My dh stayed for a few weeks at the Springhill Suites at 7810 Bell Rd. in Glendale, which is extremely close to Peoria and in a very safe area with lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. The staff there were extremely nice and helpful, and it was a good experience. I can't remember how much it cost, but it doesn't seem like it was that much.
