Hi all,

Would like to know from those that live there or are familiar with the area if there are any sections of Ardmore, Pennsylvania that would be considered less safe? If so, where are they and why?

Thanks!

IMO there are no areas of Ardmore that could be categorized as unsafe.

Thanks Charlie Cheesesteak. I am helping a friend with a potential move to the area. There is a lot of information on this site about Ardmore in general, but not a lot about specific sections of the town. I suppose a drive around there would be helpful.

This. Some parts are less aesthetically pleasing than others, but there's no real crime to speak of. The worst you'll see is the occasional band of white trash or wannabe gangster teenagers acting like idiots (not in a way that's dangerous to anyone else).

Ardmore is much more walkable and a bit more diverse than the prototypical American suburb, but as far as actual danger goes, you're probably more or less correct.

Just some general information: Ardmore is very affluent above Montgomery Avenue in Lower Merion Township and around Merion Golf Club in Haverford Township. Otherwise, it's mostly conventionally middle class, with some lower middle/working class pockets toward County Line Road (on both sides).

I will add, I often job through the "undesirable pocket", and I have never felt threatened or unsafe.
