I've just signed a lease for a rental in Drexel Hill. It was not my first choice, first choice was in West Mt. Airy, a neighborhood I did some research on and was excited about moving too, but circumstances beyond my control... Anyway, I'm a bit heartbroken, and I'm hoping that folks on here familiar with Drexel Hill and the surrounding areas can give me something to get excited about, reasons I should be happy to be moving there. Any great restaurants? Fun things to do? I'm in my mid-30s, partnered, with a 3-year old son, so any family friendly events or places to visit would be great. Is there a Drexel Hill bucket list? Thanks for any suggestions.

and join the email list on Lansdowne Welcomes You! - LansdownesFuture.com

they usually have some good stuff in their event calendar.

It's not exactly like Rittenhouse Square or anywhere in Manhattan where there's always some sort of festival or free concert going on every weekend

Thanks for these. I have joined the listserv. Those restaurants look fantastic! Good to know there is a farmers market, and the public library seems to have some good kid's programming.

On a slight tangent, is there overlap between Lansdowne and Drexel Hill? The organization of areas in PA (village, town, township, county) is confusing to me.

A lot of people seem to have trouble but basically all you need to know is that the zip codes do not obey the boundaries of counties and townships. Townships are the same thing as school districts and they obey the boundaries of counties, and typically contain multiple zip codes (which are not necessarily confined only to that township). Further confusion occurs when the township shares a name with one of the zip codes it contains.
