The determining factor for you would be price and how proximal(walking distance, I mean, public transportation is pretty decent all over).

When I think of "young neighborhoods" or areas with a lot of nightlife I think of:

Fishtown/Northern Liberties
Rittenhouse
The Gayborhood
Olde City
East Passyunk and other areas of South Philly that I should be more familiar with but I'm not
University City

Edit :

ccp is located in the Spring Garden neighborhood, which is nice, and pretty bustling during the day, it doesn't have many nightlife options going for it, though.

Once you would get on the Broad Street Subway and head south, you'd pass through or near the neighborhoods that were suggested earlier. You'll have no problem finding access to nightlife. At $800, you may find yourself in a studio/small 1BR or sharing with fellow college-aged people.

Note that realtors will call "The Gayborhood" its official name of Washington Square West. While it's still the epicenter of related nightlife, culture and services, you're just as likely to bump into a straight resident/patron of the neighborhood these days.
