All the broken dreams.. I still hold a little tiny speck of hope that we might get the ACC or some other supertall if office rents keep increasing. The rest of those projects would have been awesome, particularly Liberty Landing, Mandeville Place and Gateway Center South, which I didn't even know about until now.

This is the reason why anytime I read this articles about "This XXX building one step closer to realization", I usually don't put too much hope. For some reasons, I see alot of the proposal were never realized. Although I have to admit most of those tanked projects were proposed before the recession of 2007 - 2008.
Some of them look super lucrative though, such as that Penns Landing development!

Exactly. A lot of, if not the majority of the projects proposed before the economic crash would have come to fruition if it was not for said economic crash.

That's actually a positive, because I think we were all disappointed with the height, given the area. a 300fter in the shadow of the cities tallest buildings would be odd. And if the project does get converted to office space, I think everyone can agree that'd be a great thing for this city. I think we should be focused more on jobs than population right now. If we had more jobs, the population would return naturally. Of course we know job growth is stymied by the local and state governments, but graciously, that appears to be improving as well.

I went here for the first time yesterday and I wasn't happy with what I saw. I decided I would go home and look to see what the area offers and if it is going to be developed whatsoever, and then I saw this as soon as I got home! Good stuff...
