I had watched the documentary of over seas disciplines boot camps- had no idea there was one in Jacksonville- absolutely terrifying. Kids 5 yrs old bawling their eyes out- they are kidnapped with out their knowledge by parents OK... what is wrong with these people?? I raised 3 boys was no easy and I was a single parent, so it can be done. These are useless parents- never will they trust them again and they simply are breaking the child spirit.. It makes me sick-
it is not cheap and some of the kids getting attorneys after they leave home with terrible damage and scars from this abuse.
NOT right-

Did you watch "Kidnapped for Christ"? Not 5 year olds (!!!), teens. Amazed that parents would send their minor kids to strangers in the Dominican Republic, are they that naive? That "school" has closed.

I did -that was the first one some time back- they was a cheap movie made too- last night this station had this on-Al Jazeera America Presents and I was NO WAY!! I was furious... stupid parents don't want to discipline their own kids and are paying big buck to strangers in a prison environment. The kids eyes war dark and swollen- how can we let this happen? QUOTE if you can control what they eat -when they sleep- if you can control that behavior they will listen to your every command. ROBOTS -- prisoners and children scarred for life- 5 YEARS OLD! kidnap a 5 yr old and throw them in a camp for hard TIME? making them hold up heavy wood for hours or run 30 miles at midnight- no sleep- where are the human RIGHTS people and they endorse it at DCF??

I lived a street over from a juvenile detention center in high school. That camp in the movie made that juvenile center look like a theme park in comparison. Hell, I would rather go to the city jail than that camp in the DR.

Horrific place in general, and having the kids isolated in the countryside of the DR with no rights, even past the age of 18. Incredibly stupid parents.

Typo? Did you mean LOTS of hoopla over the lion? I'm sure I'm not alone in that I can throw a fit (be upset) about both situations! Both have been covered (by the media). Both make me sick. If you think about it, many of us, at least myself, who have empathy and worry about the Cecil the lion situation are the same ones who find these "abuse camps" and creepy abusive churches sickening.
