Drivers who boast about how many hours they have been on the road - as if it is something to be proud of.

I don't run into that very much but I did when my DH and I used to RV.

Other Rv'ers would brag about driving straight through. Why? When you are in an RV you have to spend and pay for a night somewhere anyway. Heck even Walmart will let you stay for free. I never understood that.

I agree AliceT!!!

I have two brothers that are truck drivers and this gets their goat every time!

Hubby and I have gotten to the point we don't drive more than 10 hours a day.

AMEN, Alice!!! As a professional, I hate my fellow truckers that boast about their "stretching" the logbook. It's just not worth it to drive tired, no matter what you're driving. It does kinda rub me the wrong way that the Feds tell me when I'm tired but any car driver can go rent a 26' van or buy a 50' motor home and drive 'till their eyelids weigh a ton...

Wink .

Hours on the road is their way of measuring of course the length of time they are away from home and busy working. I can see and understand that they would do this as a competitive way of enjoying their work with each other.

However I’m with Crew Chief on the “stretching" the logbook. Too many hours on the road may give them too many hours off the road as well. Tired drivers end up in the ditch. It would be more impressive to measure how many miles driving without an accident or ticket!

Stepping in someone’s chewing gum that they spit out on the ground is another pet peeve that gets to my sole. On a hot day in this town it’s very sticky and stringy as well. What a mess someone can leave behind them!

I agree with you on this one! I caught my son throwing his gum on the ground once, and I stopped the car and made him pick it up! I told him how aggravating it is when you step on gum, and the mess it makes...
