EAST LANSING, Mich.—Who says science doesn't turn people on? Kate McAlpine is a rising star on YouTube for her rap performance -- about high-energy particle physics.
Her performance has drawn a half-million views so far on YouTube.

Turn people on? Hmm... the next time I take my girlfriend out to dinner, I'll try to talk about the science of aviation, and mention mathematical and scientific forumals to figure out the aircraft's weight, to drag, to lift ratios, and wind speed, to determine how much thrust.. uhhh.. engine thrust that is along with ground speed, and how much flaps and horizontal stabilizer trim will be needed for take-off on an 11,000-foot runway.. I'm sure that'll turn her on!
And before final and "comin' in to land", gotta have the flaps, and landing gears.
