Today’s Question:
If you buy fresh (not frozen, etc.) produce/fruit & vegetables,
-do you get more in the summer ? <--- This, bc. the selection is much greater and prices are far lower in summer.
-or do you pick up the same amount year-round ?

Extra Credit:
Do you use index cards (usually 3” x 5”, less commonly 4” x 6”) ?
Not anymore, but back in high school I carried around stack of blank (unlined) index cards on which to doodle & draw.
Still have the 300+ postcard-sized artworks safely stowed in a tall cigar box (displayed a few here on C-D a while back).
Do you have an index-card-sized file box (regardless of what you actually use it for) ?

Yes, it was a two-pack of plastic containers, one of which I use for gum packs and extra teabags
& the other I keep in fridge to hold my weekly allotment of maple walnut blondie brownies (so they stay fresh).

Bonus:
Do ever you use a portable (lap) tray (made from wood, metal, or plastic) ?
Yes, a fluorescent pink/red lucite board/plank, which I picked up in art school.

If so, do you use it as a surface from which to eat ? <---Yes, to keep crumbs off floor & provide stable surface for a plate.
or to hold a project you’re working on ? <--- and this, too-for doing my drawings, or a sewing project, or filling out paperwork.
Don't own a desk or kitchen table & lack space for such things in my apt. anyway.

or other ? also for rolling cigarettes upon.

Just for Fun:
Is there a hand bell in your household ? Nope.
If so, does it get used or is it merely decorative ?

Today’s Word:
cor anglais [kawr ahng-gley]: Translates to “English horn”, though it’s neither English nor a horn.
A woodwind instrument similar to a tenor oboe, and whose origins are in Germany.
^Came across this term when reading online about an album by the Talking Heads/David Byrne,
someone was listed
as playing this instrument-and I had no idea what that was, so looked it up.

-or do you pick up the same amount year-round ? i think I buy about the same amount of fresh fruits and veggies throughout the year. There are times I might be I. More of a fresh stuff kick but it's not seasonal

Extra Credit:
Do you use index cards (usually 3” x 5”, less commonly 4” x 6”) ? yes I use index cards at home and work and for different things. Plus I have more than one storage method - including a binder ring

Bonus:
Do ever you use a portable (lap) tray (made from wood, metal, or plastic) ? i have several trays of different sizes and use them but not so much for eating from like a lap tray. I've used them with the above mentioned index cards!also have a wooden writing desk that's lap size.
If so, do you use it as a surface from which to eat ?
or to hold a project you’re working on ?
or other ?

Just for Fun:
Is there a hand bell in your household ? yes? It might be at my moms. Not used. She wanted me to use it when I had my wisdom teeth out or something but it feels so master/servant I couldn't do it.
If so, does it get used or is it merely decorative ?

1819: Signing of the Adams-Onis Treaty, in which Florida is sold to the United States by Spain; it goes into effect on this date two years later
1925: Birth of writer & illustrator Edward Gorey (d. 2000)love him!

thanks!

Do you have an index-card-sized file box (regardless of what you actually use it for) ? I have two old wooden ones we used at the bookstore but they're now empty.

Bonus:
Do ever you use a portable (lap) tray (made from wood, metal, or plastic) ? I have an aluminum clipboard for business.

Just for Fun:
Is there a hand bell in your household ? My wife may have a porcelain bell in her what-knot collection at Albuquerque but no bells out here, not even a dinner bell.
If so, does it get used or is it merely decorative ?

Thanks Cloven.

I do not use index cards. I write notes on the backs of junk mail envelopes
Yep. Done that, too, unless the advertising on the envelope doesn't leave any blank space.
