Hi,

We're thinking about a relocation to Lake Mary. We hear you can 'choose' your school in middle school and some middle schools feature programs for the arts for example.

If we are assigned to Millenium which we hear is a great school but it seems there are no sports programs such as basketball or soccer, can one choose another school that does provide those sports programs?

Where do kids 4-8th grade play football?

Where do kids 4-8th grade play basketball?

Where do kids 4-8th grade play baseball?

What is the YMCA there in Lake Mary like for youth sports?

Thanks for you help!

I don't think either of the middle schools provide sports programs beyond Physical Education classes and some club sports maybe. The Lake Mary Rams are a Pop Warner football program that is very popular for kids age 5-14 in varying age group divisions. Football - Lake Mary Rams Pop Warner There is a Youth Basketball League at the YMCA in Lake Mary as well. Programs | YMCA The Lake Mary Little League organization handles Baseball, Softball and Tee-Ball and has a large participation rate. www.lakemarylittleleague.org The YMCA of the three is probably the least attended of the group but still maintains a good following. Overall the YMCA is okay but lacks the comprehensive sports programs one sees in other locations around the country.

Yeah, every since 2009, and massive budget cuts Seminole County Public Schools cut most sports in Middle School. Millennium is A pretty good Middle School with the arts, and the Pre-IB program. If you choose not to go with Millennium, there is Sanford Middle school winch has an excellent math and science program.
