I may bew taking a position at the Washington Navy Yard, and we are looking at homes in Stafford. Was concerned about the commute, but found that Quick's Bus has a route from the RT 17 and 630 commuter lots to the Navy Yard, with transit estimates of around an hour. Seems hard to believe - has anyone used this route and have any comments on the times/reliability?

Thanks!!

I haven't used this service as I am in Woodbridge, but I would say this is about right. If the bus is utilizing the best hours of the HOV lanes (from about 6:45 to 9:00) the trip North should be pretty quick. Depending on commute times, the 14th street bridge and the Southeast/Southwest freeway can be dicey and that might slow you down.

Also, keep in mind that most commercial busses do not enter the Navy Yard and drop passengers off at the gate. Depending on where you building is on the yard, you can add 5-10 minutes for the walk.
