There is an article in USNEWS & WR 5/7/01 about disappearing small towns in ND.Most of the article concentrated on the small towns in Divide & Burke counties. It mentioned such places As Ambrose, Alkabo, Noonan, Crosby, Columbus, Flaxton, Larson (a lot about Larson), Lignite, Powers Lake , BowBells & Northgate.
Is there any new info on these Places?
Has any body else seen this article ?

Do you have the link to the article? It'd be great if you could post it cause it would be interesting reading.

I remember seeing that. They were not too happy in Crosby. It was soooooo hyped up. They showed an old country cemetary with overgrown weeds, etc... like this is the actual landscape, etc... It is funny how the story basically said North West North Dakota was going to dry up and blow away, and now a few years later, NW ND is an in the middle of another Oil Boom. Wonder where these reporters are now?

Here is the 2006 story in the New York Times, kind of similar to the one you were talking about.

Onebig, it's ok cause I read the article that Roloff posted that has the info that you mentioned. I had no idea that No. Dak's population was declining.
