My husband and I are looking at moving to the area and starting a family. We are in our mid 20's and we both grew up in small towns. We are looking for quite community with good schools and that is close (30min max) to the movies ect. So that being said what town would you suggest, Aberdeen, Southern Pines, or Pinehurst?? Are there pros and cons that I should be aware of for both? Who has the best schools? Thanks in advance for all your help

All 3 are "small town" and abut each other. 10 theatre multiplex in SP. All have good schools. Aberdeen-working class. SP-working class and wealthy (horsey crowd). Pinehurst-retirees, golf, upper middle-class/rich. Almost anywhere in the Moore County area is nice. And a nice place to raise kids.

Default Rentals near West End/Seven Lakes

My daughter and her boyfriend have been living in Pinehurst almost a year now. He's a chef, she works in the big surgical hospital there. Their lease runs out in a couple months and they are ready to get out of Pinehurst, the capital of golfing retirees. The boyfriend has a son they've just gotten in a preschool in the West End/Seven Lakes region. They are now thinking of moving out to that area if they can find a reasonable place. Are there any more young folks living in that area that has any pointers or knows the best areas to look for a rental?

Default Pinehurst, Aberdeen or Southern Pines

If you are looking for good schools, then I think Pinehurst is your best bet. You can get decent housing in the high 100's to low 200's in some neighborhoods. Aberdeen and Southern Pines are nice areas as well, I think the advantage of Pinehurst is the primary and middle schools.
