We love Ithaca, but it's been ages since we visited. Anything doing there in August? Can you recommend a place to stay that offers kitchenettes? Also any great places nearby where we can eat real food, hear music, etc.? Anything else special that the tourist guides generally miss?
TONS of live music in Ithaca - and too many food places to list. What you're going to want to do is check out the various print publications that list bands etc when you get to town - or Google some of the Ithaca news sites. Here's what I'd do--- make your first restaurant stop Moosewood (vegetarian - but great even if you're a Carnivore) is in the DeWitt Mall .... stop next door at Ithaca GuitarWorks and they should have info on who's playing, where, when.
