you can not find it ,from the jersey shore to upstate ny .i've been all over and theres a reason the northeast and ny state is called the empire state.i know many people who are moving back ...enjoy

Yup - I love it. Just about any kind of environment I want is within driving distance of NYC.

I know it too. It sounds sort of etlist, but it's true. I dont' see why everyone else can have pride in their region (southerrers, midwesterners, even people from the West Coast) but the good ole; Northeast can't. With the exception of tropical or desert landscapes (which are nice to visit but not that great to live in ) The NE has it all. Mountains, beaches, huge cities, small towns, and everthing inbetween. The NE also has the strongest "charecter" of the regions too, it's probably because it's been built up for so much longer than the rest of the country, but it just seems like there's more of an actual "feel" to the region and it's subregions (NYC area, New England, Upstate NY, PA, etc).

I completely agree. I will always be a northeastern girl. This is the best time of year to be here. The fall colors are so brilliant and the air is so crisp.

100% I know what you mean about not wanting to sound like an elitist. I have lived in Grand Forks, ND for the last three years (I'm in the Air Force) and when people try to say that Norh Dakota/Minnesota have what other places don't, I just have to laugh in my head and say, "You poor bastards, if you only knew".

Can I hear an AMEN...and not for nothing, but as water shortages become the norm in the areas that everyone ran to, we can add that NY has an abundance of fresh water and although water conservation should be everyone's concerns, I don't think we'll ever be Atlanta's,AZ, CA's shoes........

I've spent a considerable amount of time in the Midwest (Minnesota, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Indiana and Ohio) and while it has its good points as a place to live and work, I'd have to say I really prefer the northeast. There is a lot of arrogance in the Kansas City area and people seem to think this place is the center of the universe. Their elitist uppity attitude is odd when you consider it is basically an average, non descript metro area that one can hardly call sophisticated or high class. Essentially it is an oversized cow town. Perhaps they know deep down they are not in the same class as the Northeast and to compensate, they brainwash themselves into believing they are superior.

Minnesota is actually a pretty good state in which to live and work. That and Ohio are my two favorite Midwestern states while Wisconsin lands in third place. People in these places and in some parts of Indiana and Illinois seem OK.

The people out here like to knock people from NY and the Northeast or for that matter anyone east of the Mississippi River. But they should take a good look in the mirror some time because what they see ain't all that pretty. A guy from Kentucky recently told me the Kansas City region is no place to find a soul mate. He found his wife in Colorado. I'll take the women and people in general of NY, New England and PA over the spoiled brats out here any day.

I will trade you 90+ degrees for 4 months straight, for all of January AND February in NY. Sorry, I don't care if it will be 70 in Florida in January. I would rather have MINUS EIGHT.
