Is it really? Every time I meet a native New Mexican it seems that there are not many remaining... But, just me...
There's a disconnect though. Where did you move from, and where were you born, are seldom the same.
Would not surprise me in the slightest if 50% of the people who moved from NM were still not natives.
The funny thing about those migration statistics is that they make people who move to/from faraway places more noticeable than closer-by places, and that people moving from places where there's a low "net exchange" seem less noticeable, even if there are tens of thousands of arrivals from there.

Yes, I agree, but I wanted a poll, I did not want it overly complex. If this poll has a good turn out I might consider something like "If you currently live in New Mexico was listed U.S. State were you born in...
I would agree it is too early to make big commments, but the NM immigrants seem to come from a fair number of states.
If it were Oregon, it would be skewed strongly toward California.
