Here's a link

https://www.city-data.com/forum/new-j...ar-jersey.html

There's also various non-profit organizations (ie dog groups etc) who can use it for transportation etc - some will even tow it away at their expense

There are many local tow truck people thatwill give you about $100 or so for it as long as you have the title. Also if you can get it to a junkyard or what they call recyclers they often pay by the pound. the tow truck drivers probably make a small difference between whatthey pay you and what they get at the recyclers.

I once drove a car backwards in reverse through a few towns since that was the only gear left. Got stopped by a cop, asked me
You driving in reverse? I did a WHO ME??

Also there are charity organizations in that biz, you getsome sort of tax write-off usually.

Charities- - Ive done it twice already, its a tax help and its just a nice thing to do. Look in the Star-Ledger or even the Daily News, I would tell you who I used if ya send me an E-mail, For some reason I think the mods will cut it out if I name the charity here*

great, now I have that stupid jingle in my head "1-8-7-7-cars for kids! Donate your car today!" LOL, you could probably call them.

I once crashed my car and the repair work was going to cost more than the car was worth I called a couple of tow trucks and found one to come and tow the car and pay me for it. They gave me $400 cash for it. Not much, but they came right away which was good since it was parked on the street and the town told me if I didn't move it within 48 hours I would start getting tickets.

Like others have suggested, one of the best ways to get rid of an unwanted vehicle is to donate it. Typically the place you donate it to will come pick it up and handle the tax paperwork for you. At least that's what I've heard about Goodwill Car Donation - you simply call, they pick it up, and mail the tax info back to you. It could be worth looking into! Craigslist, give it away for free, someone will be over to pick it up in minutes. Also, PLEASE do not give it to Kars for kids.
