I am soon to locate to Middle TN somewhere in the rural areal surrounding Nashville. Specifically looking at Springfield. I have a horse and want to bring him there and get him a buddy but am wondering how plentiful trails are?
ps. my daughter moved to TN about a yr ago to go to school and loves it and the people, hence our decisions to relocate there.

Springfield is a nice area. You will want to look at the outskirts of springfield though possibly like owens chapel area and so forth. I have heard there are some trails to ride on and stuff like that but dont know for sure where at. I will try and find out for you. You might be able to find out from the chamber of commerce http://www.spchamber.org/ (broken link)

Default Springfield Chamber

We'll also be moving to the Springfield area.
You can call the Springfield Chamber, and they will send out a relocation packet. I got mine within a few days of calling.
Their number is: (615)384-3800 or you can e-mail at info@sprobchamber.org

I don't know what type of horses you have, there are tons of Tennessee Walkers and the PWHAT (Pleasure Walking Horse Association of TN) does lots of trail rides. I think they have a website, try them. I live in California but ride mine all over on the trails when I take them back for shows in the summer. You will love the riding.

I live in this area and trail ride almost every week. There is really no riding right in Springfield, so you have to trailer, but there is wonderful riding within an hour or two in any direction. I belong to two trail riding groups in this area.

Hi, rhinestonecowgirl.

This is an old thread, so I don't know if Spudster will ever see your post. I haven't seen another post by the person since I've been here. However, thanks for coming on board; quite a few people have questions about Springfield from time to time. And others have questions about horseback riding in the area. I do the best I can, but you'd probably have better information.

By the way, I grew up in East Montgomery County, in the area betwwen 41-A and Highway 12 and still have land in the area, although I live in Nashville now.
