OK, well I must confess I am not a big country music fan (more of an Elvis fan ), so . . . . will i be ok? Are there other nashville people who aren't either? Are there other music stations besides country, even though Nashville is the country music capital of the world (I think)?

Queen, they don't call it Music City for nothing! We have country and bluegrass, of course, but also a thriving alt/rock scene. We have clubs to hear live jazz, the world-class Schermerhorn for the Nashville Symphony, and don't forget where Young Buck calls home

The Nashville Symphony is WONDERFUL, and the new Schermerhorn center is one of the most beautiful symphony halls in the world.

I remember back in the good ol' days of Opryland (curses to Gaylord Entertainment for tearing it down!!). Most of the musical shows were NOT country.

Don't get me wrong, Nashvillians know which side of their bread is buttered, but even country music stars do more than just country. Amy Grant, for example, has personally donated millions of dollars to the Nashville Symphony. And Nashville probably hosts more rock concerts than most any other city its size in the country.

Thats good to know that there are other musical chioices in Nashville, sometimes the media gives the impression that the only music in Nashville is country, so it is good to know that there are other choices out there. I look forward to seeing what they have to offer!

Default Way FM

If you like Christian music, Way FM is a pretty good station.
You can do a search at Google for Way FM: 88.7 and listen online.
It's got a wide range of Contemporary Christian music.

Nashville isn't all country music.

Bon Jovi has been here this winter recording. And Eric Clapton has spent some time here as well.

Alice Cooper lives out in the Lebanon area! He's quite the golfer.

WOW, interesting info! Didn't know that about Alice Cooper. Its good to know Nashville isn't just about country music. Not that country music is bad, its just not my favorite. Thanks for the info!

Actually Alice Cooper's main home is here in Phoenix but he may have a home in Tennessee and yes he really is into golf. He's even good friends with John McCain which seems like an odd couple.
