Will Bloomingdales's open a store in Nashville area?

People simply are NOT shopping at large department stores anymore. They are going to boutiques and a certain demo still go to high-end department stores, which tend to be smaller and have high margins. A market the size of Nashville's has 1-2 nodes for such stores.

I have heard rumors from a few blogs and development contacts that an urban Target will land at either Nashville Yards, or if not, the midtown developments. Also, I've heard that Trader Joe's has been eyeing midtown for a store, in the next couple of years.

It's really inevitable to happen, with all of the higher end, nice housing going in. Retail amenities will fast follow for sure.

Very exciting. I see those stores wanting to be near the Whole Foods, so it makes sense.The Turnip Truck opens soon at Broadview in Midtown. It will be nearly twice the size of a Trader Joes. Stores like Target will easily have success in Midtown. The East Bank could be the region's second high end area with superb visibility and popularity for the Titans stadium development. Combined with Oracle and TPAC, this area will have very high street level activity. I really hope TDOT puts in the work for this area.
