An embarrassment of good news for Nashville today: in addition to Amazon's announcement of 5,000 high-paying jobs to downtown Nashville, Ernst & Young announced it's adding 600 jobs to its Nashville division and will put them in an office building under construction in Midtown:

This is incredible. Great momentum.

More companies moving to Nashville and more jobs, equals more companies moving to Nashville, and more jobs. LOL

It's true, and will continue to snowball, I bet.

The financial sector is what brought my family to Nashville and supported us until I came of age, with my dad's position at L&C (they hired him from The Equitable in Atlanta). Although the sector there isn't in the same league as Charlotte's, it is way more than what exists in Austin. A couple of weeks back I looked up the office inventory of Austin and Nashville and they are close, but Nashville ahead with 94 million sf and Austin with 92 million. This is a great win and should solidify and drive the sector and I'm happy for Nashville, with one of the most diverse economies in the country. Trust me I've been through local recessions and natural disasters down here (Houston and Austin) and I can't picture a local recession up there ever.
