Hi All

I am relocating from Northern Ireland to Middle Tennessee within the next 6 months and would like some advice on the best areas and schools as i have a 7yr old and 4 yr old twins. I will be working in the Springfield area and will initially be renting.

Any info you can provide would be very helpful.

Well, obviously there are a lot of factors to consider besides just schools...but if schools are the most important, you might want to check out Sumner County, especially around the Hendersonville area.

What other things are you looking for in the place that you live? Perhaps we can help you find a place that fits your needs well.

Thanks for that.

I have thought about initially living in a gated community. Bristol Park at Riverchase is one of the properties i have looked at on the web. I think it would be nice to have the facilities this provides until we get to know the area and maybe then purchase something.

Schools is going to be important to us but locality to shops, restaurants and parks will also be a factor.

I would look into Sumner County Schools. While Hendersonville has the best, it will be a long commute...30 minutes at least I would guess. White House would be a good option as its a booming family friendly community on the Robertson/Sumner border. It's about 20 minutes from Springfield and 15 minutes from Hendersonville.

Hendersonville also has the best selection of shops restaurants and parks in the two counties.

I thought about White House, but I don't go through that area much. Location-wise, it would seem to make sense. Perhaps also consider Goodlettsville (Sumner County side).

I think of White House as the north side's Spring Hill. 15 years ago it was nothing and now it's a city of over 10,000 with lots of new retail and restaurants opening. To me, like Spring Hill, I think it seems too far to commute to Nashville but many people do it. I've also noticed more Hendersonville workers living in White House.

All this info is great.

I have tried to find some rental properties in White House but i'm not having much luck. I'm using mynewplace.com. Can you suggest any better websites?

Thanks again

Also try Hotpads.com

Zillow.com lists rentals but none for White House at the moment.
