I've been curious about Divergent since I enjoy some of the YA movies(even though I'm not a YA myself). However, I noticed that no one has started a thread about this movie. Although I was hoping that a YA would while I sat back and read it.

Also, this movie really isn't doing that bad. It's been out for 3 weeks and as of this weekend has grossed $114,005,553 domestically. And I know that's not 'blockbuster' revenue, but it certainly isn't performing poorly like Pompeii or The Single Moms Club.

Any one have any feeback?(With hidden spoilers.)

I went reluctantly because I didn't care for the book but was pleasantly surprised. The movie was much better than the book. Great visuals and action and combat scenes, wrapped up nicely even though it's the first of a trilogy. Entertaining, worth seeing on the big screen imo.

Default Loved it!

I loved it! I read the books long time ago but when I saw the movie I thought they did a great job in capturing the mood of the book and the casting was spot on.

I went back and reread the first book and was suprised how much I liked the movie better. They had changed some scenes around and added some special touches that weren't in the book.

I'm really curious how they are going to do the second book. It's a lot more complicated and very long.

I'm a fan!

I'm reading the book right now and planning to see the movie soon. Did anyone find the book and the style of writing rather simplistic? I know it is geared at younger ones but the writing is driving me a bit nuts. Found the whole Hunger Games series so much better written.

Saw this out of Red Box last night. LOVED IT. I don't love a lot of movies but this one had us on the edge of our seats.

Hey, something that stood out GLARINGLY was the night she stayed at his place and said "I don't want to move too fast" and he said "I already have my place on the floor". WHOA! Bravo!! See kids? NOT getting naked can be cool!

Loved the actors and characters. I hope the next 3 are as good!

Watched this last night. I was very disappointed. Basically a "Hunger Games" ripoff with no clear ending at all.

Definitely not my type of movie, generally speaking, but I watched it with my daughter and her boyfriend a few months ago. I thought it was a pretty good story.

The next workday, I was at the station waiting for my commuter train, and I had the urge to run alongside it and hop on as it pulled into the station, lol. Good thing I resisted. I am 56 years old. Coulda left a mark.

I really enjoyed it and I don't particularly like the genre. I preferred it to the Hunger Games which I found pretty boring (the person I was with fell asleep at that one lol).
I liked the main guy to look at and I thought Shailene Woodley put in a good performance.
