Gotta wonder which there'll be more of, the bikes being used or parked in dens and living rooms as Italian sculpture/investments?
But as pure engineering achievement? BRAVO!
Too many no mile Ducatis selling 10+ years later for 1/2 or 1/3 of what the MSRP was........So there has to be living room sculpture collectors doing this or they get scared of it and park it.

Yeah I've seen a few like that for sale... and have seen a 'Busa with virtually no miles... probably the same thing... scared. You buy a bike to ride!
Not a problem I'd ever have though... I'd never buy too much bike and that's exactly what a 'Busa is. As for Ducati... not paying all that for the name. I'll stick with my Suzuki. 750cc gives me plenty of passing power and I'd had it up close to 90 on the freeway. Don't need more bike than this... but if I were to upgrade I'd probably go to 1000cc and call it good.

I swore I'd never buy a Ducati then I rode one. Bought it the same day - SuperSport S. Life got in the way so I don't ride nearly as much as I used to and it's been a storage queen, but it's a hell of a lot more comfortable than my GSX-R1000 was and has more character. I do miss my GSX-R600 though - if it hadn't been stolen I'd probably still have it. That was a fun bike and more or less comfortable. Got hard on the wrists in traffic though. Might sell the Ducati since I'm not riding it, wait a year or two till the kiddo is older and things settle down, then get a Diavel.
Ducati makes some excellent quality machines. Dunno if I'd want to spend 100 on one though...
Now, 100 for a Vincent Black Shadow, that's a different investment...
Having been a restorer for several Vincent bikes ... back in the day when they could be bought for well under $10K ...
I wouldn't consider one anything but a collectable showpiece. It's for show, not riding ... especially at $100K.
A marvel of the technology of it's time, but nothing that you'd want to ride any distance compared to what's been available for decades now.
