Never heard of FAIRHOPE and had no idea how cool that looks on Google Maps! (Mobile: houses)

FAIRHOPE...dang, that place looks cool! Beaches and sand going right up into the community somewhat. I did a bit further research, it looks very expensive, definitely red politically.

I'm just wondering how come I've never heard of it before....overshadowed by Panhandle Florida beach towns? What do y'all think of it?

Yes it is a very gorgeous city, It is also one of the oldest cities in the Mobile area (Founded in 1894) and is the oldest of the immediate incorporated suburbs surrounding Mobile. So much history in and around Fairhope. Fairhope isn’t that expensive, in terms of Alabama home pricing, it’s a little up there but compared to other places similar in other states, it’s pretty cheap (lol). Yes it is a red city. I’m not sure why you haven’t heard of Fairhope, it is a small city (24k) but a surprisingly number of people know of the city (it is very often for the city to appear on “best small towns” type of lists). I don’t think it’s overshadowed by any panhandle cities, frankly I think we may be reaching a point where Fairhope is overshadowing them lol.

It’s not considered a beach town or touristy because it’s on Mobile bay which is not the emerald green waters of Florida. They’re definitely the most well balanced of the eastern shore cities(Daphne and Spanish fort are the others)in terms of suburban and urban development. It’s definitely a very nice area, just look at how many bay houses there are south of the city. It’s one of the fastest growing cities in the state. It’s one place that I’d love to live if I were in Baldwin county. But since most of the land that fronts the bay around fairhope is privately owned and developed, they’ll never be a tourist type of town(especially with orange beach and gulf shores being in close proximity having large public beaches).
