what location? 24th & 25th of January lows seem to have both been above 0 according to the NWS for MSP

unless of course these are unreliable or being influenced by Right or Left Wing nut jobs

It's been a hardy winter, but no record setter | Star Tribune

From the StarTribune on February 10:
The tally of consecutive subzero lows is likely to reach 17 before a slight warming trend begins Wednesday, placing the Twin Cities at a total of 42 days below zero for the winter season. Three days more vault us into the top 10 of total days below zero. The record is 60 days below zero in the winter of 1874-75. The winter of 1936 set the record for consecutive subzero days at 36.

I looked it up - that 36-day stretch in 1936 was January 18 thru February 22.
Reference Temp and Precip Variations

Curious thing about 1936. The Twin Cities all time low was set less than 6 months before its all-time high. In addition to 36 consecutive days with a low below zero, 1936 gave the area 5 consecutive days with the high at or above 105F.

Date, Highs & Lows (F)
July 06, H-104 L-69
July 07, H-101 L-80
July 08, H-101 L-82
July 09, H- 96 L-82
July 10, H-106 L-80
July 11, H-106 L-82
July 12, H-106 L-83
July 13, H-105 L-86
July 14, H-108 L-72
July 15, H- 98 L-64
July 16, H- 98 L-73
July 17, H- 99 L-79

And this was largely pre-air conditioning - some stores, offices, and nice hotels had it, but very few homes did.

Rough year, 1936!

1912 data for consecutive hours at zero or below is 186 which but for 4 hours above would have reached 311 consecutive hours at zero or below, nearly 2 weeks straight...

Extended Period of Zero or Below in the Twin Cities 1873-2014

in comparisson, this winter saw a 63 hour zero or below duration between Dec 30th and January 2nd and then a 64 hour streak between Jan 4th and 7th.

btw, the 77 - 78 winter also holds the record for consecutive days at 32 or below with 66
