Hi, I'm about to start a job in Shakopee. I'm trying to look at options of either purchasing a condo or townhouse. I'm just looking for suggestions on areas that would be reasonable. I am young and single so I'm looking to stay somewhere reasonably close to Minneapolis. The other factors would be cost and commute time to to Shakopee.

Do you want to be in Minneapolis proper? If not, Shakopee is a reasonable place to live with many townhouse options and basically no commute.

Yes I would prefer to live in Minneapolis or in an inner ring burb. Any suggestions, and roads to avoid?

If you are going from the Minneapolis area to Shakopee you will be going against traffic so anywhere on the western side of the cities will be good. St. Louis Park is a nice "neighborhood" type community with somewhat of a suburban feel that is close to MLPS and would be an easy commute. Eden Prairie would be the easiest commute for a 'suburb' that is close to Mlps and Shakopee.

So going south in the morning and north in the afternoon on either 169 or 100 should not be a problem during rush hour?

Both should be pretty car free the directions you are going. The other side will look like a parking lot however.
