There were 6 houses around me for sale. Five have sold in the past few months. Not sure how much...but they have sold anyways.

Houses are selling, but at rock bottom prices!

It's a great time to buy a house in Michigan right know if you have a good steady income.

We will be closing on our house on the 30th. Did we get as much as we listed it for? No, but we got enough to make the sale worth it. We were one of the last nice homes in our area, in my opinion the ones I know of that are left are major fixer uppers. I would not say rock bottom price either, much lower than we could have gotten 5 years ago but that was our choice to go through with it.

In fact, home sales are up in Grand Rapids, I believe for the last six months (prices are down obviously).

Some places just go against expert analysis...

GR at a 28% decline in price, but just goes to show that even experts are known to be wrong...

Michigan Housing, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Marquette

Too bad they were painfully right about the rest of the state...

Well, I am buying a house in Michigan - just haven't found it yet. Looking in an area east of M-53, north of 26 Mile, and south of I-69.
