If you know Kalamazoo, and someone from another country was coming to visit, what would you want to show that person in or near this city? Let's say that you have only an hour or so to drive around, look, and maybe walk around a bit. You'll come back later to the places that your guest is particularly interested in.

Downtown shows some of the city's flavor and gives an idea of the city's size compared to other cities. The Kalamazoo Museum is downtown, and the Air Zoo is not far. Nature lovers will enjoy Kalamazoo Nature Center, and the Henderson Castle is spectacular for everyone to see. Those are some of my ideas so far.

Without knowing your guest's specific interests, where would you want to drive with your guest in or near Kalamazoo?

What time of year are they going to be in town?

I like the idea of the Museum and downtown. Downtown is especially fun if there's some sort of festival going on. There's the mall, the museums, Bronson park.

Without knowing what they are interested in, it's kind of hard to give more specific suggestions.

Bronson Park is always pretty as long as there aren’t too many panhandlers there...then a quick walk over to the “Kalamazoo Mall” to check out some stores. Check out The Radison Plaza Hotel lobby...it’s cool. You can always drive over to WMU if they want to see some college life.

I know it's not exactly in the heart of Kzoo, but there is the Gilmore car museum in hickory corners, and Heritage Guitars which used to be Gibson guitars does factory tours
