It is tragic and so unnecessary. And yes, parents should educate their kids on things like these, and in my opinion, "foods" like this should not be sold as food if there are significant, acute risks associated with them - i.e. if they are not generally safe to consume, then don't sell them as food. The whole marketing pretext of this product - that it's "fun", because it's going to be horribly painful and unpleasant to eat, is flawed from the get-go. Drano could roll out a line of cocktail mix-ins, if that's the drill. What fun!

Eating a spicy chip and eating detergent is NOT the same thing by a really long shot.

It's the other way around...

But while the autopsy results suggest that a heart defect probably made Harris more vulnerable to the negative effects of the chili pepper extract, people without underlying risk factors can also experience serious heart problems from ingesting large amounts of capsaicin, Haider said.

It might be COVID vaccine related. The hot chip triggered his vaccine injured heart. These parents vaccinated thiER kids and in 5 to ten years they might find them dead. The heart dies not recover from a mRNA vaccine injury.

Did you actually read the linked article? The autopsy report also states that the teen had a congenital heart defect. Definition of "congenital" = "A physical abnormality or disease present from birth." Whether he was vaccinated against Covid-19 or not may have nothing to do with anything.
