You've planted cucumbers? I haven't even started the seedlings for my plants! I figure by the time I have seedlings to plant, maybe the snow will be gone. There's still about 18 inches of snow on my garden patch.
Jj's right. These are going in one of the greenhouses (similar to a high tunnel) to be grown up strings. Tomorrow is seed starting day here for the seedlings that will be transplanted into the ground.

I'm on schedule then, cause I started my tomatoes and peppers today. By the way, if you had stopped for a visit, you would know that I have a small greenhouse, which is one of the reasons I really wanted this particular house. Guess I need to think on what I'm need to get started that just looks pretty and smells nice and doesn't produce edibles.
PS--did you have a good day?
I've been by your house many times and know there's a small greenhouse. It's not similar to what I'm using and doing. I'm planting in the ground inside unheated greenhouses. I did have a good day. The sun didn't come out so melting was slow and it wasn't as muddy between here and the greenhouse I'm working in as it has been. Steve just got home (so much for early) and is going to make supper.

You were working today? Not on your birthday! Of course, working at gardening is the kind of work some of us like. Yeah, the greenhouse is small, but it's enough for me to get a head start on the growing season. And I don't have to wait for the snow to melt to start "diggin' in the dirt!" It seems to be an addiction among the women in my family.
I'm fortunate that it doesn't seem like work this time of year for the reason you said - I'm in the soil while there's snow on the ground.
Supper's cooking. He's told me we're having plum pudding instead of cake. I asked if he knows what plum pudding is and he had to admit he doesn't. I think we're safe with cake!
He didn't say chocolate cake with chocolate frosting?
He let me down! He told me it's pineapple upside down - his favorite. I'm letting supper "settle" before cake. He's already been into the ice cream.
