You know you're in Maine when people don't look at you like you're crazy when you tell them you're moving there. And no one finds it necessary to remind you that it's cold in Maine.

Never been to the casino.

But I have been to Walmart.

More often than not a Canadian tour bus is parked out front. Canadians making the trips down here to make purchases.

Default You know youre in Maine When

I have some family members I would like to send up to Maine so they can learn what it means to HELP, be a good family member and care about someone other than themselves. Maine got a "family boot camp" anywhere?

Yup, you're right there. Alays at least one bus when I go by Wally World. Same thing in Calais only they don't need a bus. Tons of cCars from N.B.

My in laws breezed into town one night. We had just gotten home from Ga. and had no idea they were coming though they were invited up. They didn't have a cell phone yet nor any clue as to where the house was and, even though its only a 3 1/2 sq mile island they weren't about to go door to door looking for us. It was almost 5 pm and they saw a light on in an office downtown. They went in and asked the woman if she knew us. Silly question; I graduated with her. She told them to hang on while she closed up and she'd bring them up. They followed her up to the head of the driveway and she got out and pointed at the house. The in laws were quite impressed. Now, thats home in a nutshell.
