My husband and I were up at our camp this past weekend and we found our first moose shed. We believe it was from last season, but what was strange is that it was laying right on top of the leaves, I would have thought with all the leaves off the tree's that it would have been covered.

Can't wait to go back and see if we can find any from this season!

Has to be from last year. Moose have not shed yet and won't for at least a month or more.

It's kinda like a garden shed, only a bit taller, and plenty wide, so the moose will fit in with those antlers of theirs, you know. I bet you have seen them, on the far end of the line of pre-built sheds in the parking lots of the bix box lumber and hardware stores this past summer. Whatever... the Amish made ones from are better though... stronger and more durable.

Off topic a bit [BUT funny]

A few yrs back [1980's] I was working construction in Southern Maine and we had a crew from Texas show up. These boys would be spinning their wild yarns of pet armadillos and such so I went and got a huge collar and a very large rope.
I went in early the next day and left the colllar and rope in the bed of my truck and passed my idea on some of my guys. When the Texas boys showed up one of em saw the rope and collar and asked what that was for. I told him it was for my pet moose. They couldn't believe and all my guys were saying "YA, YA!! He's out in the woods now playing around. He'll be back later to go home." The Texas boys bought it hook, line, and sinker.
