Hello, My name is Brian, I am moving to Louisville from GA in October. I will be working near the airport.

My girlfriend lives in Paducah, KY so I figured for ease of driving back and forth on weekends and whatnot somewhere in the southern part of the metro is where I should look. I know that in a lot of cities the areas directly around the airports can be a bit sketchy.

Looking for a 1-2 bedroom apt or a small house would be awesome. $650-$850/mo. Trying to keep things reasonable for now.

I am willing to commute up to 30 minutes. I am about as unfamiliar with the area as one can be. I have taken a cursory look at the map and am guessing somewhere along the I-65 corridor from around Shepherdsville and other points north towards the airport. Maybe Hwy 60/31W? or Hwy 150 Help me kind strangers! ..You're my only hope!

It takes 3 hours to drive from Louisville to Padacuh. If you're going to want to drive to other places in the Louisville area more often than driving to Padacuh, it might not make sense to focus your apartment search on saving a few minutes driving to Paducah.

The area ne of the airport, north of I 264 and east of 65 are nice, other areas not so much. You looking for urban or suburban, close to malls, etc? Lot of variety of safe areas would be within your price range for apartments, though a house might be tough.

Excellent! Thank you! Can you give me any neighborhoods or suburb to look in specifically NE of the airport?

the nicest areas are North of 264, east of I65....any of the areas off I264 north of the exits with Poplar level, Newburg, or Bardstown roads would be fine...you will pay more the further east you go.

If you prefer more suburban....I 265 near Preston might be ideal, and would put you further south to save a few mins driving to paducah. Why not get your gf to move to Louisville too! Lots more opportunity.
