Baton Rouge, and it's pretty safe. I also know there are parts of town where I would NOT go at night.

Not everyone. Remember, I was the one hold out on feeling safe. Now, when I'm at the "Rainbow Island retreat" in Arkansas, I do feel very safe.

Sorry Rainbow! Most people feel safe! But you know Farmerville I live off of Marion Hwy! Nothing happens out there. 6 miles from town. Our biggest problem is coyotes! LOL

In Shreveport, it just depends on the area. Cedar Grove is a bad scene, but for the most part the rest is pretty safe.

With all the school shootings and now church shootings ( who would have thought you would be killed at church) how can one really feel truly safe anywhere? I have a new fear as of late , one of my laid off coworkers come in one morning and clean house. Yeah, it happens ! Things affect people in different ways. One guy may see this as a good chance to catch up on some things he needs to do, fish, visit family, have some needed time off, or whatever. But the next guy may be affected in a totally different way. He may lose more than a job. He may lose his sense of being, his sense of security, and his sense of belonging. He may fear losing his home and car, and even his family. Some people live to work, I work to live. Think about it..............

Well.......Im from Monroe, and I live in the rougher area. Its kind of hard to truley answer this because when u live somewhere for a long period of time u just get numb to everything and it becomes common. Be to be totally honest, I only feel about 45% safe from crime on the south side of Monroe as well as Southern Ouachita Parish. This is a high crime area. I can tell u this though, the garden district of Monroe should be very safe. I got stopped over there twice in one night and twice more due to that later on that week. The neighborhood watch over there is so incredible and elite that any small suspicion of something going on, at least 3 cops willl be on the scence. I dont have to tell u guys about the crime here in Monroe, but still know that its all in one area. The others are well protected i promise.

Alexandria is a dangerous city for its size, but I live in a safe part of the city. I would say that about half the city is high crime and the rest either has moderate or low crime. Pineville and other areas outside of Alexandria are for the most part safe, except for maybe inside the towns of Boyce and Lecompte.
