Stater Bros reminds me of Pioneer Market back then... not as fancy as Vons and not as mainstream generic like Ralphs and Albertsons either. Relatively decent prices, but still generally overpriced without coupons and sale deals.

You need to get out more, genjy! They've remodeled many of their stores. Prices have always been lower than Vons, Albertson's and Ralphs.

I'll be honest, I thougt it was a national chain that was mostly just in the South. No idea why.
