I * think * it was in Oceanside, but I can't remember - I went there from 1965 - 1967 (yeah, I'm old). I think it first opened its gates in the mid-50s (but I'm not totally sure about that either).
Is it still around? Did anyone here attend during my summers there?
I went to to Camp Milett from 1963 to the early 1970's. It was a wonderful time of life with plenty of memories. My name is Steven Rossetti. I went there with my brother Robert and sister Maria. My mom was the pool lady for a few years.
Thanks for that Steven - I don't remember girls or older kids there! Do you know if the place is still in operation? When I went, it was run by Rose Miletti.
The day camp was located in East Rockaway and was bought by another family around 1991-1992. It was extensively renovated and renamed Rolling River Day Camp. The Millets moved out of state.

The camp is not run by the Milleti family anymore and is now called Rolling River. The last time I past the property, it appears as if the new owners invested a lot of money in the camp. I tried to track down Aunt Rose, Uncle Frank and Frank Jr. and I was told that they are all gone. What a shame. After seeing your post, I went on a quest to find some of my friends and I found Jeff Gold, you might remember his two sisters who were counselors and bus drivers, I also found Michael Beckenstein and Warren Meltzer. Mike told me that our friend Randy Gruber became a Cardiologist and also married Cindy Crawford. It would be nice if we could get a FaceBook page up in memory of the camp. I will continue to try and find pictures. I know Uncle Frank used to take a lot and display them in the lobby of the main building. I am srossett and I can be found on optonline dot net. Speak to you soon.
DeBaun is the camp that is near Dee's nursery on Atlantic Ave. in Oceanside. It closed last year. Camp Millet, now called Rolling River Day camp is on Ocean Ave. in East Rockaway across the street from CVS. If memory serves me right, the Millets went to Florida. Rolling River has been around since 1992 and has been extensively modernized.
