hi,

we've been looking for houses in Great Neck and came across some houses on Pembroke Avenue and Iris Ln, it's convenient location, close to Northern Blvd but also close to all commercials....the average lot size is on the smaller side as compared to the other parts of Great Neck (some are as small as 3700 sfqt...) we are wondering how's the neighborhood there if you are familiar with the area? Thank you!

It depends.

You should know that there's a huge Korean community there.
Not that there's anything wrong with it, but you may feel a stranger if you're not korean.

Hi OP, I just wanted to say that you definitely will not feel like a stranger for not being Korean here in Great Neck. Do not worry about this!

I'm sure you already know this, but Pembroke turns into Little Neck at some point. In my experience, the homes tend to be better kept (and lot sizes slightly bigger) if they are further from the city line. So in this respect, maybe Iris/'eastern Pembroke' will work best for you. Overall, the neighborhood is very safe and friendly. I wish you luck.

you mean north of Pembroke. I have a good buddy who live north of 25a from the address in question......a lot of very nice homes there.

The area is nice, I used to live on West End Dr (the little neck side) I would jog and bike all over that area usually after 11pm. Very quit and safe neighborhood.
