It is not just the weeds, people are such freakin pigs there is so much garbage strewn about everywhere also. I traveled down to VA and PA this summer, both so much cleaner than here.
We were in VA recently too. I wish LI had the shopping and eating areas they have there. It's a lot of beautiful red brick roads and buildings and while it gives a colonial vibe, it is very clean and welcoming. What do we have here? Everything is getting old with little to no improvements or fresh ideas. It's just sad really. All our money goes to selfish people (unions) rather than back to the communities. I'm being too nice with the word sad... it's more like sickening. I don't even want my kids contributing here to the cycle the more I think about it. Efffff these people.
I agree, they need to mow the highways a bit more, as sometimes I could not exit safely onto another state road.
As for the trash, well, you are jamming 7 million people into a small Island, most of which reside in the Western half. Only a small percentage half to be piggies in order for it to look bad.
People complain about the project going on on 347 to "beautify" the area. Yet, people then complain about the roads looking ugly! Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
