I dunno what's going on. I know it's the season but the kids and I have been fighting something (throat, head, etc) for the better part of a month and antibiotics didn't help. Several of my neighbors, train friends, and co workers are going through the same thing. What gives?
It's the same down here. Jeez, even the news people on our local stations are all sick! I had it a couple weeks ago, DD had it last week. Very widespread this year.
Pretty decent virus seems to be going around, antibiotics don't help at all. Just gotta let it runs its course. We need some nice cold weather to kill it off, its been so warm that probably is not helping.

Us too. All of our family has it. Just can't shake it, and it's taking a long time to go away. Head, productive cough, etc.
The problem is everyone and their grandmother takes antibiotics for simple colds anymore. So when you really need them they don't work because your body is immune to it.

Antibiotics do not nor never have worked on viruses. Colds and flu are viruses.
Thats my point. So many people take them that their immune system is weakened and what used to be a normal cold turns into a 15 day severe cold.
