Aside from the Las Vegas strip and 300+ days of sunshine. Can you list 3 or MORE solid reasons why someone would relocate their family to Las Vegas in this "character building" economy....

Why not move to NYC, LA, Miami, Chicago, or some other hot "metropolis" where there is also rising unemployment, crime, angry residents, etc....lol

Seriously speaking though guys, WHAT MAKES LAS VEGAS THE PLACE TO LIVE?

1. No state income tax
2. Cheap cost of living (especially compared to the other cities mentioned in the original post)
3. Every conceivable form of cuisine and entertainment. If someone says they're bored in Vegas, it's their own fault.

Nolan05 was dead serious about the mayor...who also used to be a lawyer that the mob hired to defend them when they ran LV.

The climate and views makes it feel like you're on vacation every day.
The no state income tax is a big one, too.
And, if you feel like going out at 4 AM to get something to eat, you have many options to choose.

Kind of overrated reasons in my book, but I guess they are true. Climate might be nice for some, but I think its overrated when summer seems to last forever and spring and fall seem like they are 3 weeks each. State income tax seems nice on the surface, but close to 20% of the national population lives with no state income tax so this is more a relative benefit to our neighbors only. And yes 4am options are a little better here, but out where most residents live the options are still the 24 hour fast food drive through which you can find in most cities or a smoky bar with limited menu.

No one has yet mentioned alcohol is purchasable and served 24 hours a day? Oh yeah, that reminds me, neighborhood Hooters open 24 hours a day.
