Regardless, rental car companies are in business to make a profit & aren't likely to have a lot of 80k vehicles in their fleet. SUVs always seem to have crazy expensive rental rates, if you found a Tahoe on an earlier occasion for $420 that was likely an outlier.

I'm not sure what this has to do with Las Vegas. Rental car supply & demand exists anywhere. If you don't like the rates, speak with your feet & go elsewhere. Or look into another vehicle.
A tahoe Ls is not 80 grand

45 K? For what? More gadgets?

That is what I meant. The lincoln version of the expedition.

Op never did mention what the dates were.
I just got back from 10 days on Orlando. Compact economy was going for $49 a day through Thrifty
I ended up renting a 4x4 Silverado from Thrifty for $16 a day. It was great considering I was remodeling my house there

Yes, and better sound insulation and a softer ride, at least between the Ford and Lincoln lines--but I don't think a little more bump and road noise is worth the difference, but it is to some folks.

Ford/Lincoln groups option packages that leave out just enough of the gadgetry to either make you shop up a trim level or find a lower trim with added options outside the option group. And they also include expensive, somewhat useless options in a group.

I am guessing you are picking it up at the airport so a LOT of that may be fees and taxes.

I am guessing there is also a MUCH higher chance of a tourist having a wreck here than in the NE.

The Company does not see it as a problem to solve. They are quite happy to charge you that.

Amazed at OP's attitude. The vehicle is the property of the rental company and they can stock however many or few as they like and charge what they like or what the market would bear. Don't like it - go somewhere else. No one offers it for cheaper, alter your requirement, renting location or whatever else. To post a thread suggesting you are somehow have a claim to rent it at a price of your choice is ridiculous.

Also, the OP often posts on the St George forum, about 120 miles away. Rent it in St George.

When rental car companies get into their higher dollar units, they aren’t base units. They won’t have base LS

Avis just quoted $544 for 6 days with airport pickup and dropoff. Maybe you should shop around.
